In the past, Netflix has had a reputation for canceling a startling number of its original series. There was a time when it seemed like one after another, Netflix shows were dropping like flies. While the streamer still makes hard decisions, there's a vastly better likelihood that hit shows will earn swift renewals. Already in 2025, so many favorites have been renewed!
Most recently, Netflix renewed Emmy-nominated romantic comedy Nobody Wants This for season 3, and fellow recent releases The Diplomat and Monster both earned early renewals for fourth seasons. Netflix still has a few renewal and cancellation decisions ahead, but rather than being pessimistic and attempting to predict which Netflix shows will probably be canceled, let's be optimistic.
Sure, there's a chance we could be wishfully thinking here, but these are the three Netflix shows that have the best chance to be renewed before the end of the year. Hopefully, we're not wrong about any of them and even more shows join them with good renewal news in 2025.

Emily in Paris
- Would be renewed for: Season 6
Technically, we're jumping the gun when it comes to Emily in Paris because season 5 won't be released until Dec. 18. But we have four seasons of historical data to turn to as evidence of the show's dependable viewership performance. We're not anticipating a sudden shocking decline in ratings, which means the rom-com should continue its winning streak.
Given that Emily in Paris season 5 debuts before the end of the year and Netflix has a history of renewing this series shortly after new seasons drop, there's a good chance that we could be getting a season 6 announcement for Christmas this year. This fall, Netflix's boss seemed to tease that season 6 is already in the works, but we'll have to keep our fingers crossed.

Boots
- Would be renewed for: Season 2
Admittedly, this one isn't as much of a safe bet as Emily in Paris, but it's still definitely in contention for renewal. Boots debuted to modest viewership in its opening weekend, which seemed to signal that the show wasn't going to make an impact. However, after the show was criticized by the government and word of mouth continued to climb, the show put up much better numbers.
In August 2025, far ahead of the show's October bow, Netflix extended the options on the cast in the event of a renewal. The series had suffered a number of delays, likely the reason behind the cast's contracts expiring pre-release. Based on its positive reviews and devoted fan reception, Netflix should without question go forward with Boots season 2, and we're hopeful that they will.

A Man on the Inside
- Would be renewed for: Season 3
Obviously, we would love for Netflix to renew far more than three of its shows before the end of the year, but a vast majority of the shows that have been recently released or will be released in the coming weeks are limited series. Of course, Netflix renews limited series, but it's hard to know which ones before they premiere. That's why A Man on the Inside is our next pick for a sure-thing renewal.
The mystery comedy series from creator Mike Schur and starring Ted Danson was a surprise hit last fall. A Man on the Inside season 2 arrives one year later on Nov. 20 and looks primed to not only match last season's highs but build on them. More stars in the cast, a fun new case, and its strengths tightened even more should almost certainly lead to A Man on the Inside season 3 being confirmed very soon.
