Pride and Prejudice is set for a fall 2026 release on Netflix

Yes, you read that right! Netflix's upcoming TV adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice novel is confirmed to be releasing on the streaming platform this fall. While an exact release date wasn't given, fall 2026 means we can expect the series to arrive somewhere between September and December.
Obviously, we'd like to see Pride and Prejudice sooner rather than later. That said, we're keeping our fingers crossed for a September release. However, we're probably a long way off from getting an official release date. Don't worry! We'll definitely return with this important information once Netflix makes it known.
Austen's Pride and Prejudice book has been adapted countless times over the years, from classic films to beloved miniseries. But while some adaptations might have changed things around from book to screen, Netflix's version promises to remain faithful to Austen’s original story. Euros Lyn (Heartstopper) serves as the director, with Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) as the screenwriter.
Netflix hasn't provided an official synopsis or even any plot details, but we can just look to the source material to know what to expect from Pride and Prejudice. The six-part limited series follows the Bennet sisters in 19th-century England as they pursue socially acceptable marriages. The main plot centers on Elizabeth Bennet, the smart and independent second-oldest sister, and her complicated relationship with Mr. Darcy, a wealthy and proud man.
Their initial misunderstandings, such as Elizabeth judging Darcy for his attitude and Darcy looking down on her family, create tension. Over time, they must overcome their own pride and prejudice to understand each other and potentially fall in love. Emma Corrin (Black Mirror, Nosferatu) stars as Elizabeth Bennet, while Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Ella McCay) takes on the iconic role of Mr. Darcy.
The cast is also made up of other talented actors such as Olivia Colman, Rufus Sewell, Freya Mavor, Fiona Shaw, Hopey Parish, Hollie Avery, Rhea Norwood, Daryl McCormack, Siena Kelly, Louis Partridge, and many others.
Below, we shared the exciting first teaser trailer for Pride and Prejudice.
Besides the release date, we're still waiting on an official trailer. That'll likely drop closer to the show's release. As soon as Netflix shares it, you'll be the first to know. That said, stay tuned to Netflix Life for more news and coverage on Pride and Prejudice.
