Netflix has officially made it official! Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 finally has a release date, and the long wait for the next chapter in Aang’s journey will be coming to an end soon. After months of speculation and growing anticipation from fans, the streaming giant’s announcement marks a major moment for one of its most talked-about fantasy adaptations.
Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 is coming to Netflix in June 2026

Hopefully, you have your calendar up and ready to mark this important date down. If so, you need to go ahead and mark off Thursday, June 25, 2026, because that's when Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 is officially landing on Netflix. While the first season consisted of eight episodes, the second installment is rumored to be one episode short. That would put the total episode count at seven episodes. But again, this is just a rumor.
Neither Netflix nor the show's creative team has confirmed the exact number of episodes yet. What we do know for certain is that the new season will be released at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on its release date. That's the typical rollout time for Netflix originals, and it's exactly when the first season dropped on the platform.
Netflix also shared a new, exciting poster and a behind-the-scenes video of the new season. Check them out below!

When Avatar: The Last Airbender first debuted in 2024, it carried the weight of enormous expectations. Adapting a beloved animated classic is never easy, but season 1 managed to reintroduce the story to a new audience while reigniting nostalgia for longtime fans. It set the stage with Aang’s awakening, the growing threat of the Fire Nation, and the emotional journeys of Katara, Sokka, and Prince Zuko. But as important as that foundation was, it was always clear that the real turning point of the story would come next.
The second season is where the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender truly opens up. With the release date now confirmed, fans can look ahead to a continuation that promises to be bigger in scale, deeper in emotion, and far more complex in its storytelling. The narrative moves beyond the early stages of Aang’s journey and into a phase where the burden of being the Avatar becomes impossible to ignore.
Picking up after the events of the season 1 finale, which saw Team Avatar save the Northern Water Tribe from Fire Nation forces, the new season shifts its focus to the Earth Kingdom. In season 1, Team Avatar spent some time in the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu. Now, they're set to return to the sprawling and politically layered region with a mission to convince the Earth King to join their fight against Fire Lord Ozai.
While the first season introduced us to Aang, Katara, and Sokka, Team Avatar will be getting a new member in Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2. Fans can expect the arrival of Toph Beifong, a fiercely independent blind earthbender whose unique abilities and unshakable confidence will challenge Aang and help him grow in ways he never imagined.
The second season will see Aang learning earthbending from Toph, which is important to his overall mission of mastering all four elements and preparing to face Fire Lord Ozai. Gordon Cormier returns as Aang, Kiawentiio as Katara, and Ian Ousley as Sokka. Also returning for season 2 are Dallas Liu as Prince Zuko, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai, and Elizabeth Yu as Princess Azula.
New cast members include Miya Cech as Toph, Chin Han as Long Feng, Hoa Xuande as Professor Zei, Justin Chien as King Kuei, Amanda Zhou as Joo Dee, Crystal Yu as Lady Beifong, and many others.
