Netflix is dropping 11 movies and series this week (April 12 - 18, 2025)

So long.

The deluge of series and movies leaving Netflix in April is mostly over. The first week of every month is pretty brutal. A lot of favorites leave. Maybe you can catch them elsewhere, but that means subscribing to another service. That is no fun.

One of your favorites is bound to be going away in the next week. A classic children's show is going away immediately to start the new week. (Weeks in Netflix speak are different from real-world weeks; we all wait for the weekends to see what is new on streaming, right?)

But two films are dropping off your streaming list this week that you might have to catch immediately. The films are entirely different, somewhat odd, and one is a hidden gem. So, take some time this weekend and watch them before you say goodbye.

Netflix subscribers have to say so long to these movies and series leaving before April 18, 2025

April 12

  • A Quiet Place Part II
  • Clifford the Big Red Dog
  • Fate of Alakada
  • Pickpockets

One of the movies mentioned above is A Quiet Place II. The John Krasinski-led film should never have been good. No one expected the original Quiet Place to reach the kind of audience it did. But Krasinski and the fabulous cast (led by Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy) prove that the franchise should be strong for years to come.

April 14

  • Misconception, aka Misunderstanding

April 15

  • Hereditary
  • KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World (Season 1)
  • The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The other film we alluded to is The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Even the title alone is ridiculously overwrought—or so it would seem. The movie stars Nicholas Cage as, well...himself, but the premise is not realistic, as he deals with a superfan and a CIA agent.

Had the movie tried to be based in reality, it would have failed. Instead, it doubles down on the weird, while also seeing a talented cast, including Cage, Neil Patrick Harris, Tiffany Haddish, and Pedro Pascal, appear to have a lot of fun making this goofy thing.

April 16

  • Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins
  • The Legend of Korra (Seasons 1-4)

April 17

  • Monzón: A Knockout Blow (Season 1)
