Even though it feels like the year just started, we're getting closer and closer to the halfway point of 2026, which is summer. And we all know what summer means (other than great weather): The best blockbuster movies and shows of the year! Thankfully, Netflix has started to reveal some release dates for summer content, including what might be the streamer's biggest rom-com of 2026.

So far, Netflix has dated three original series for releases this summer, which includes Sweet Magnolias season 5, Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2, and the new reboot of Little House on the Prairie. But the first Netflix romantic comedy of the summer just landed a release date, and it's going to kick off the summer season with a real star-studded bang.

Office Romance starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein sets June release date

Netflix announced the release date for Office Romance, the upcoming romantic comedy movie starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein. The movie from director Ol Parker makes its global streaming premiere on Netflix on Friday, June 5, 2026. In addition to sharing the movie's release date, Netflix also dropped a first-look at Lopez and Goldstein's sizzling chemistry with a preview photo.

Over the course of her career, Lopez has starred in her fair share of romantic comedies, including her long list of classics like Maid in Manhattan, The Wedding Planner, Monster-in-Law, and Marry Me. Lopez's latest foray into the genre teams her up with Emmy Award-winning Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein, who also co-wrote the script for the new Netflix movie.

Like some of her past movies, Office Romance takes Lopez back into the workplace for a romantic connection with a coworker. But this time around, the movie has a different descriptor that you probably couldn't attach to her past rom-coms: "raunchy." Lopez plays Jackie Cruz and Golstein plays Daniel Blanchflower, the central couple keeping their romance a secret.

Here's the official synopsis as shared by Netflix:

"Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein lead a raunchy romantic comedy about a secret office romance and the trouble two workaholics get in when they start thinking with their hearts."

In addition to Lopez and Goldstein, the Office Romance cast also includes familiar faces such as Betty Gilpin, Edward James Olmos, Tony Hale, Bradley Whitford, Amy Sedaris, Tony Plana, Roger Bart, Jackie Sandler, Donald Elise Watkins, Jodie Whittaker, Natalie Ortega, Mary Wiseman, Brian Gallivan, Ali Stroker, Michelle Hurd, Scott Seiss, Lisa Gilroy, Will Sasso, and Mo Welch.

Unfortunately, Netflix didn't share a teaser or trailer along with the first-look photo and release date reveal, but leading up to the release in June, the streaming service will surely begin to drop more teasers. Keep a close eye on Netflix's socials, as well as J.Lo's, and we'll share more details about what's no doubt going to be one of the most-watched Netflix movies of the year!
