Love is Blind season 10 follows six newly engaged couples to Mexico and another couple to Malibu in the first six episodes of the season, which means 14 people fell in love and got engaged in the pods.
As it turns out, there was another couple who got engaged in the pods, bringing the total of newly engaged couples to eight couples. Unfortunately, one couple's happy ending came a lot sooner than they thought it would after leaving the pods together.
Due to financial and narrative constraints, the couple was not picked to accompany the rest of the group to Cabo San Lucas, according to an Entertainment Weekly interview with Love is Blind creator Chris Coelen.Â
In this case, the couple was Elissa Finley and Miguel Lopez. We don’t see too much of their story throughout the season’s first six episodes, but we do see the aftermath of Elissa putting nail glue in her eye because she thought it was eye drops.

Elissa and Miguel broke up shortly after they were told they wouldn't be coming to Mexico
Coelen revealed to EW that the couple broke off their engagement and left the show separately after they were told they would not be one of the seven couples picked to go to Mexico or Malibu.
Here's what Coelen told EW about Elissa and Miguel:
"The eighth couple, who we did not follow, broke off their engagement the next day."
While it’s notable that this season featured another couple who got engaged, this does happen occasionally in the show. In the past, couples have gotten engaged in the pods and are not picked to continue the journey with the rest of the group.Â
While we don’t know what goes into the selection process, it’s important to remember that this is a reality TV show, not a docuseries. We know the producers are trying to put together an entertaining series for the audience, even at the expense of the contestants at times.Â
On top of that, we learned in the interview about Coelen’s revelation to send Vic and Christine to Malibu. It’s simply because the show doesn’t have the resources to follow seven couples to Mexico back to Ohio and all the way to the altar. If the couple isn’t interesting or if production doesn’t think they have what it takes to bring something to the table in the final episodes, it’s probably not going to happen.Â
It’s difficult to speculate, but you have to wonder just how much the contestants' hearts are really in some of the engagements if they break up immediately after learning their time on the show has ended.Â
Technically, we could still see Elissa and Miguel at some of the social events the show puts on as filming continues. We also know from previous seasons that some of these people do meet up and hang out when they get back from Los Angeles. There have been many things that happened off screen with other contestants that made their way into the series, so we’ll just have to see how it plays out in season 10.
Love is Blind season 10 continues with more new episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 18, only on Netflix. We'll see if Elissa and Miguel show up in the next batch of episodes.
