One of the best TV shows of all time is leaving Netflix soon

You're running out of time to watch all six seasons of the hit ABC series created by Damon Lindelof, J.J. Abrams, and Jeffrey Lieber.

Netflix fans should be used to the churn of hit TV shows hitting Netflix and getting removed within a few years. Well, if the reports are to be believed, it's about to happen again with one of the best TV shows of all time.

According to a report from What's on Netflix, Lost, the hit ABC series that premiered in 2004 and ran for six seasons on the network through 2010, is about to leave Netflix starting in August 2025. Unfortunately, it looks like Lost will be leaving Netflix in almost every country and region it's available to stream, including Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Brazil.

At the time of publishing, Netflix has not revealed the exact date that Lost will be leaving Netflix, but the report shared a screenshot revealing Aug. 14 will be the last day to watch Lost in the UK. Fortunately for Netflix US subscribers, the series will be available to stream until the end of 2025, according to the report.

That's obviously good news for those in the US, and it's bad news for everyone else. We'll try to share the exact dates Lost is leaving when we get closer to that time, but for now, you should plan to be able to watch the series until Jan. 1, 2026. That seems like a long way off now, sure, but it's tough to binge-watch a full, six-season broadcast series. These are not the short seasons we're used to for Netflix shows. Lost's shortest season is 14 episodes, but the first three seasons each have more than 23 episodes!

For those who haven't seen this series, I can't recommend it enough! The series has a massive and incredible cast, including Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Daniel Dae Kim, Naveen Andrews, Emilie de Ravin, Jorge Garcia, Terry O'Quinn, Maggie Grace, Josh Holloway, Malcolm David Kelley, Dominic Monaghan, Yunjin Kim, and many more.

Lost tells the story of a group of survivors of a plane crash who become trapped on a desert island. They must come together in order to survive, but not everything is as it seems.

Lost won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in 2005, and it probably should have won the award a few more times over six seasons on ABC.

There's no doubt this is one of the best TV shows of all time. It's on the short list of the best dramas of the last two decades with Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, The Wire, Succession, and more.

It's obviously sad to see this series leave Netflix. I'm going to make myself seem really old now, but Lost was one of the most transformative TV shows for people my age. It used to be one of the most popular TV shows several years ago on Netflix. I feel like that's probably changed now because we don't see the series randomly pop up on the Netflix Top 10, though it has popped on the Netflix Top 10 in some countries, including Canada, in 2024.

We'll share more reminders about Lost leaving Netflix as we get closer to the end of the year, but if you live in the US, you only have a few more months to watch the series before it leaves Netflix.
