Before we get too far into this, know this article does not only deal with a future John Cena vehicle, but one that also involves the excellent Eric André. You might know André from his volume of voice work, including Netflix's Disenchantment, or his weird but entertaining self-titled series. Or maybe playing Lyle Lissons on season two of Righteous Gemstones.

In other words, Little Brother, a new film in production at Netflix, will be watchable beyond Cena. The film is a comedy, and Cena has a good sense of humor and should be a good fit, but how he plays off of André should be gold.

This is especially true as the film now has a director who should be excellent for the movie. Matt Spicer has been named to fill that position and has a history of creating gems from lower-budget projects. If you haven't seen his work, Ingrid Goes West should be on your list to stream this weekend.

The script for the film was written by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel, who also created Netflix's Huge in France. Based on all involved, from the actors to the director to the writers, Little Brother should be goofy fun, but potentially with a dark side.

The plot revolves around a real estate agent whose very structured life gets a heavy dose of chaos when his eccentric little brother shows up again. The assumption is that the "little brother" is not necessarily a direct relative, but there is a permanent bond of some type. (To be fair, that is a bit of a guess on the last part, but the premise makes sense.)

Of course, there is no release date set for the film, as the director was recently named, and filming has not started. Netflix subscribers are likely looking at 2026 at the earliest to watch Cena and André work their magic.

If you cannot wait that long to see either, Cena will be doing voice work in Coyote vs. ACME, which will be released next year. Yes, it is a Looney Tunes-related movie.

André has a project in post-production called Balls Up, a Peter Farrelly movie starring Mark Wahlberg. It should be a hoot.
