When you think of iconic looks from across every season of Stranger Things, you probably think of things like Will's bowl cut, Hopper's mustache, and Eleven's shaved head. In the first season when we met Eleven, the mysterious child had a buzzcut, a dress, a blue jacket, a bloody nose, and an undying love for waffles. But she's gone on a hair journey throughout the series.
Millie Bobby Brown actually shaved her head when she was younger to portray Eleven early on in Stranger Things, but over the course of the Netflix hit, the actress has either worn her natural hair as it grew out or, in the case of season 4, wore a wig. While watching season 5, you might be wondering whether Brown opted to use a wig while filming or simply relied on her own locks.
Even though Eleven was forced to shave her head again in Stranger Things 4, by the time nearly one year has passed when we catch back up with her in season 5, she has seemingly grown her hair back out. Being so, Millie Bobby Brown doesn't appear to be wearing a wig as Eleven in Stranger Things 5 so far, as she's simply donning Eleven's hair pulled back into a bun.

There's still a chance that later on in the season, Eleven's hair could change in a manner that would require Brown to a wear a wig, but in the first four episodes, the actress doesn't appear to be wearing a wig just yet. Brown previously wore a wig in season 4 rather than shaving her head again to match Eleven's latest buzzcut, though she admitted that she loved shaving her head and would do so again "in a heartbeat." Perhaps another project prevented her from doing so for season 4.
Who's wearing a wig in Stranger Things 5?
Millie Bobby Brown isn't the only Stranger Things cast member who has relied on wigs to bring their characters' unique hairstyles to life. While speaking to Watch Mojo with Gaten Matarazzo and Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin revealed that he wore a wig in season 5 for Lucas' new look. The trio also spilled the beans on who else in the cast was wearing a wig in the final season.
Wolfhard admitted that he styled his own hair for Mike's look in season 5 and Joe Keery also didn't have any pieces for Steve's hair this season, but Matarazzo had extensions put into his hair to pull off Dustin's late-'80s mullet. Additionally, Charlie Heaton wore a wig for Jonathan's hair (and we can definitely tell). But those were the only cast members the actors confirmed were wearing wigs.
While the group didn't mention which of the women in the cast wore wigs, we can assume that at least a few of them did, like Natalia Dyer as Nancy and possibly even Maya Hawke as Robin. We'll have to see whether the actresses confirm who their characters' looks come together, but pretty much know for certain that Millie Bobby Brown didn't use a wig in season 5 part 1.
