Hit Netflix show renewed for final season with 'epic conclusion' promised

We’ve got some good and bad news for fans of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black. The good news is that Netflix has officially renewed the hit series for a third season. The bad news is that season 3 will be the show’s final season. 

The surprising news was confirmed by Netflix on December 11, with the streamer announcing the bittersweet renewal without much additional news. It’s unclear how many episodes the final season will consist of, but the expectation is that we could see another 16-episode season in line with the show’s first two seasons. 

The one thing that is certain is that Netflix has assured fans the series will bring an “epic conclusion,” and we’re eager to see how the writers plan to deliver on that promise. We’ve already seen the show’s title character Kimmie come so far through the first season and the first part of season 2, and we’re excited to see her transformation continue – as is Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black star Taylor Polidore Williams.

“Kimmie’s transformation has honestly been one of the highlights of my career so far,” Williams told Tudum. “Getting to dive into a character’s evolution is one of my favorite things ever about acting. I think her confidence really stems from Horace. He believed in her from the start, and he’s been coaching her on how to not only survive this family but [also how] to take up her rightful space with them. Now we’re finally watching her step into that power, and it’s so fun to play.”

It’s definitely bittersweet to see Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black coming to an end after just three seasons, but we’ve still got a lot of content to come! 

In addition to the final season, we’ve got eight new episodes coming in the new year. Netflix has confirmed the second part of season 2 will release on March 19, 2026. Part 2 will consist of another eight episodes following the journey of Kimmie. 

Kimmie has ascended to the top of the Beauty in Black makeup empire, but can she maintain her seat at the head of the table? We have no doubts about that, but we’re definitely eager to see what new obstacles might come her way in the new episodes and how exactly her journey will come to an end in the final season!

Fans won’t want to miss the conclusion of season 2 which will certainly set up the final season which we’re expecting will begin sometime in late 2026. 

While Netflix has not announced a release window for the final season, it’s looking likely the first part of the third and final season of Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black will arrive in Fall 2026. Season 1 kicked off in October 2024 with part 2 then releasing in March of the following year. Season 2 launched in September 2025 and will conclude in March 2026, so it seems safe to assume season 3 will kick off in September or October 2026 and the final episodes will hit in March 2027!
