Weekends are for relaxing, snacking, and, most importantly, binge-watching. If you’re staring at your Netflix homepage right now, scrolling endlessly and feeling that familiar “nothing looks good” vibe, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
We’ve hunted down five hilarious, thrilling, and downright addictive movies that are begging to be watched on Netflix. Boredom, be gone! Split these films up between Saturday and Sunday, and you’ve got the perfect weekend lined up.
The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025)
Put Keira Knightley in every thriller! That's how you're going to feel after watching her in Netflix's The Woman in Cabin 10. Those who are avid readers of thriller novels will likely recognize this movie's title right away. It's a film adaptation of Ruth Ware’s 2016 bestselling novel of the same name, and it manages to do a good job of capturing the twists, suspense, and psychological tension that made the book such a page-turner.
Knightley stars as investigative journalist Laura “Lo” Blacklock, a sharp and determined investigative journalist who finds herself trapped in a luxurious yet ominous cruise setting. When she believes she witnesses a passenger being thrown overboard from Cabin 10, no one believes her, and the cabin in question appears mysteriously empty. She then makes it her mission to uncover the truth.
The Elixir (2025)
The Elixir is for all the Walking Dead fans out there, or really anyone who enjoys a good zombie flick. It's worth mentioning that this is an Indonesian horror flick, meaning it's not in English. However, you can easily watch it with subtitles or listen to the dubbed version. So language is never a barrier to enjoying the thrills.
The plot kicks off in a seemingly quiet rural village where a family-run herbal medicine business creates an experimental elixir meant to heal and rejuvenate. But instead, it unleashes a fast-moving, ferocious zombie outbreak. Chaos erupts as the villagers are transformed into relentless undead, and the previously estranged family must band together to survive the escalating nightmare.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
We had to include another horror film on the list with Halloween coming up and all. I Know What You Did Last Summer is a slasher that serves as a sequel to the original 1997 classic and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. It keeps a similar plot structure to the first film, following a group of friends who make a deadly mistake, try to cover it up, and then find themselves stalked by a vengeful killer.
The story takes place 27 years after the second movie, introducing a brand-new, tight-knit crew that accidentally causes a tragic car accident during a night of partying. Believing they’ve gotten away with it, they're sadly mistaken when a year later they find themselves stalked by a mysterious, hook-wielding killer.
The Martian (2015)
Let’s move on to another genre and take a giant leap into space with The Martian. This sci-fi adventure follows astronaut Mark Watney, brilliantly played by Matt Damon, who becomes stranded on Mars after a mission goes wrong. Left for dead, Watney must rely on his intelligence, engineering skills, and spirit to survive the harsh, unforgiving Martian environment while NASA and his crew race against time to orchestrate a daring rescue.
Besides Damon, the cast includes many other amazingly talented actors such as Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. In addition, this movie is based on Andy Weir’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name. Just in case you might also want to pick up the book after watching.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
They just don't make teen rom-coms like 10 Things I Hate About You anymore. It’s honestly one of those rare movies that gets everything right. I'm talking from the witty humor to the painfully relatable high school moments. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger light up the screen with their undeniable chemistry, and their back-and-forth banter is still as entertaining today as it was in the late ’90s.
With its clever script, standout soundtrack, and that legendary bleacher serenade scene, 10 Things I Hate About You nails what makes teen romance so fun to watch!
Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, the film reimagines the classic story in a modern high school setting. It follows two sisters with very different personalities. You have the popular and bubbly Bianca Stratford and her older, sharp-tongued, no-nonsense sister, Kat.
When their overprotective father declares that Bianca can’t date until Kat does, what seems like an impossible rule sets off a chain of hilarious and heartwarming events. Enter Patrick Verona, the mysterious and charming Australian bad boy, who is enlisted to woo Kat. What starts as a calculated plan turns into something real, and Kat and Patrick slowly begin to connect, discovering unexpected chemistry, mutual respect, and even affection.
