It's officially the weekend, and that means staying in to catch up on all the new shows you might have missed throughout the week. Not to mention, with Halloween last weekend, your watch list is likely overflowing with so many shows you need to catch up on. There's so much good television on right now, but if there's room on your watch list, it's the perfect weekend for new Netflix shows.
Over the past few weeks, Netflix has released a number of fan-favorite shows, with the likes of The Diplomat, Nobody Wants This, and The Witcher all returning with new seasons. Long-running reality series Selling Sunset also made a comeback with a dramatic batch of new episodes, but what else is there to watch on Netflix this weekend? These are three exciting shows I would binge-watch!

Death by Lightning
Netflix debuted the new historical drama Death by Lightning on Nov. 6, and the four-episode miniseries didn't waste any time skyrocketing straight to the peak position of the top 10 ranking of the most popular shows on the streamer. It's no surprise since everyone tends to love a good, gripping Netflix limited series with action and a true story.
Based on the book of the same name by Candice Millard, Death by Lightning comes from creator and writer Mike Makowsky and director Matt Ross. The series centers on the presidency of James A. Garfield and his eventual death at the hands of his fan Charles J. Guiteau. Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon plays Garfield while Emmy Award winner Matthew Macfadyen plays Guiteau.
The incredible ensemble cast of Death by Lightning also includes Betty Gilpin, Nick Offerman, Bradley Whitford, and Shea Whigham. Netflix's latest limited series hit has been certified "fresh" on Rotten Tomatoes with an 88% rating, with critics praising the performances that will surely be recognized come awards season. If you're a fan of history, tuck into these four episodes this weekend!
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2
It's been less than six months since Squid Game officially came to an end on Netflix with its third and final series, but its spinoff reality competition has already returned with a new season. This week on Tuesday, Nov. 4, the streamer dropped the first four episodes of Squid Game: The Challenge season 2, and the competition is off to an immediately intriguing start!
Squid Game: The Challenge season 2 contains nine episodes in total, and while we all wish we could binge-watch the full season in one sitting, Netflix will be releasing the show in weekly batches. The next four episodes drop on Tuesday, Nov. 11 and the season finale arrives on Tuesday, Nov. 18. That's when we'll find out the winner! For now, get into the beginning of the fierce competition!

Bad Influencer
Who couldn't use a little bit more drama in their lives? Of course, I'm not talking about actual drama, but the kind that we can live vicariously through by watching it on television. We're in a bit of a drought when it comes to soapy drama series at the moment, but if you take a gander at the Netflix top 10, you will notice a show called Bad Influencer bringing up the rear.
Netflix premiered the South African crime drama on Oct. 31, but it seems viewers are still discovering the show. Bad Influencer takes place in Johannesburg and centers on a single mother named BK (Jo-Anne Reyneke), who has been finding challenges in her fashion design career, and teams up with social media influencer Pinky (Cindy Mahlangu) to market fake designer handbags.
The series only contains seven episodes, which makes for a relatively quick weekend binge-watch that's entertaining and unexpected. Bad Influencer really brings the soap and the crime in ways that we have been needing. It's campy and fun and full of shocking twists! To round out a weekend of exciting new Netflix shows, you can't go wrong with this one on your watch list.
