Emily Cooper's triumphant return has finally arrived! Emily in Paris season 5 reunites us with our favorite agent of chaos who has been trying to make her way in Paris, and now Rome, and making so many mistakes along the way. Even though she found some stability with Marcello in season 4, the new episodes will once again shake up Emily's life and career in ways she doesn't expect.

From a major secret that tests one of her strongest friendships to different kind of love triangle, Emily in Paris season 5 will push and test our girl like never before. The new season drops on Netflix before Christmas, and we're sharing what fans need to know, including exactly what time to start watching, how many episodes there are, who's in the new season, and what's in store for Emily!

When is the Emily in Paris season 5 release date on Netflix?

Emily in Paris season 5 begins streaming on Netflix on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at at 3 a.m. ET / midnight PT. That's a bit late to start watching the new episodes, so plan your binge accordingly. It's been a long time to wait for new episodes, but not nearly as long of a wait as that between seasons 3 and 4. We last caught up with Emily in season 4 back in August and September 2024, but we're back to spending the holiday season binge-watching just like we did with seasons 2 and 3.

How many episodes are there in Emily in Paris season 5?

As with all previous seasons, Emily in Paris season 5 contains 10 total episodes. However, this season changes up the release schedule of season 4. While Netflix opted to release Emily in Paris season 4 in two parts that were five episodes each, the streamer reverted back to the romantic comedy's typical binge release format. All 10 episodes will be available to stream when season 5 premieres on Dec. 18. There's not worrying about waiting a month in between parts this time around, and thank goodness!

What to expect from Emily in Paris season 5

In case you forgot what happened when we left Emily in season 4, she was blissfully reveling in her new life in Rome. She scored a new job leading the Agence Grateau office in Italy and opened herself up to love with Marcello. For the first time, she even left her phone at home rather than documenting her life for her Instagram followers! She seemed happy and settled after non-stop chaos.

But that doesn't mean chaos won't still chase her down! Gabriel revealed his intention to win Emily back, which could totally throw a wrench in her plans with Marcello. Mindy, too, received a new career opportunity that takes her away from Paris and might even send her into the arms of an unexpected suitor, someone that could cause some tension in her friendship with Emily.

Now that she's spent some significant time in Rome, Emily starts to feel pulled back to Paris in season 5, which will seemingly allow her to take stock of where she is in her life (both literally and figuratively) and what she still wants. Will she stay in Rome or return to Paris ready to take on the world with a whole new perspective? That's the driving force behind Emily's next chapter.

Check out the official season 5 synopsis via Netflix's press release:

"Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily leans into her French lifestyle, until a big secret threatens one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to embrace new possibilities."

Is there a trailer for season 5?

Yes! Netflix dropped the official Emily in Paris season 5 trailer two weeks before the season's premiere on Dec. 18. The full-length preview clip features our best look yet at the new season. Emily's love triangle appears to be between Paris and Rome this season, as the push and pull between Marcello and Gabriel isn't top of her mind. Additionally, the trailer reveals Mindy and Alfie getting a little too close for comfort. Is that the "big secret" in the synopsis? Watch the trailer below!
