If you have been captivated and mystified by the JonBenét Ramsey murder case for the past three decades, then a new Netflix documentary series will definitely have a place on your watch list in November 2024. The series will dive deep into one of the most infamous American cold cases.

According to Deadline, Netflix will release Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey on Monday, Nov. 25. The all-new documentary series contains three episodes and comes from director Joe Berlinger, who's known for his true crime documentaries and docuseries.

On Dec. 25, 1996, JonBenét's parents discovered that their daughter was missing. A ransom note was left in their home and the six year old's body was later found in the basement. The tragedy was ruled a homicide, but despite various leads throughout the years, the mystery has not been solved.

In the brand new three-part docuseries, Berlinger jumps back into the case and leaves no stone unturned in presenting the facts. Cold Case features interviews with individuals close to the investigation to present new perspectives, including appearances from JonBenét's father John Ramsey.

Per a quote provided by Deadline, director Joe Berlinger says he gained "unprecedented access" to the investigation of the crime and through his three-part series will showcase the "deep flaws" that erupted a child's murder case into years of conspiracy theories:

"Many people think they know the JonBenét Ramsey story and have played armchair detective for three decades, often callously pointing a finger at the very people who suffered such an unthinkable loss. Through unprecedented access and a comprehensive multi-year investigation, we reveal the deep flaws in how the case was originally handled, resulting in a sea of conspiracy theories that nearly destroyed the Ramsey family for a second time."

Berlinger previously directed Netflix's 2019 film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile starring Zac Efron as Ted Bundy. He has also teamed with the streaming service on a number of Netflix documentaries and docuseries, including Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru, Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, Crime Scene: The Times Square Killer, Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, Conversations with a Killer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Tapes, and Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street.

After the release of his Emmy-nominated 1996 documentary Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills on HBO, as well as its two sequels in 2000 and 2011, the West Memphis Three who were the subjects of the film were able to be released from prison. Berlinger's films and series have the power to make an impact, which could happen with the Ramsey case, too.

Earlier this fall in September, Paramount+ announced its upcoming limited series that will fictionalize the JonBenét Ramsey case. The series comes from Richard LaGravenese and stars Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen as Patsy and John Ramsey. The cast also includes Margo Martindale, Emily Mitchell, Garrett Hedlund, Alison Pill, Owen Teague, Clifton Collins Jr, Rory Cochrane, Chris Bauer, Angus Caldwell, Shea Whigham, Will Patton, Jaime Ray Newman, and Josh Stamberg.

There's no word yet on when the limited series will begin streaming on Paramount+, but it's likely to make a release sometime in 2025 or 2026 in time with the 30th anniversary of the case. Before the limited series arrives and reignites widespread interest in the case, make sure to check out Netflix's new docuseries from Joe Berlinger beginning on Nov. 25.
