Welcome to the One Tree Hill revival chatter, Lucas Scott!

Chad Michael Murray, who played the aforementioned character on beloved The WB/CW teen drama for six seasons, has finally commented on the reports of the in-the-works revival series. While he didn't reveal if he would appear in Netflix's potential One Tree Hill sequel series, he's all for the show making a comeback for fans.

During his press run for his forthcoming Netflix original Christmas romantic comedy The Merry Gentlemen, releasing on Nov. 20, Murray was inevitably asked about the conversation surrounding One Tree Hill. Since the series is still in early development, not much is currently known, but Murray shared that fans deserve to return to Tree Hill.

Here's what the actor told Deadline about the potential revival:

"I really want some iteration of this show to come back for the fans. I’ll tell you, whatever iteration of the show comes forward, I want that for the fans. There’s such a brotherhood and a bond between so many people all around the world with us. I’m grateful for that."

As One Tree Hill fans know well by now, word of Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan working with Netflix to bring the fan-favorite series back for a revival leaked in August. Bush and Burton Morgan are on board the project as executive producers and are confirmed to reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer. Danneel Ackles also produces with a possible return as Rachel.

Chad Michael Murray wants One Tree Hill revival for fans

In the initial report of the revival series from Deadline, Chad Michael Murray was said to have no plans to reprise his role as Lucas, but again, it's still too early in the development process for the original cast members to start talking deals and returns to their roles. All they can do is express interest, and admittedly, that's not exactly what Murray did in his latest statement.

Wisely, Murray was careful with his words to neither spark too much excitement for fans nor outright extinguish their excitement as far his his part's concerned. He left the door open, if not cracked, saying enough to honor both the series and the fans that shot him into another stratosphere of stardom in the 2000s. Still, there might not be appearances from every main character.

Fellow One Tree Hill star Bethany Joy Lenz recently appeared on the podcast Call Her Daddy to promote her memoir Dinner for Vampires and also commented on the revival series. Lenz mentioned "it's way too early to even talk about that" in regards to signing up to come back as Haley. She and James Lafferty had both previously addressed the revival news in a not-so-promising update.

Until more concrete updates are announced about Netflix's One Tree Hill revival series, namely an official series pickup, all fans can do right now is keep their fingers crossed that Bush and Burton Morgan get the green light to invite all their friends and costars to come play once more in Tree Hill.
