There’s something about shark movies that taps into a very primal fear. The ocean already feels like one of the last truly mysterious places on Earth. It's vast, dark, and largely unexplored. Beneath the surface, you never quite know what’s lurking. That uncertainty is exactly what makes shark thrillers so irresistible.

Ever since Jaws first terrified audiences and redefined the creature-feature genre, filmmakers have returned to the idea again and again. They're always finding new ways to drop ordinary people into extraordinary situations where survival is anything but guaranteed. Now, another high-stakes entry is preparing to make waves. This time on Netflix!

The upcoming shark thriller Thrash dives straight into the chaos with a disaster-driven survival story that thrusts its characters into the middle of a catastrophic storm where the floodwaters bring a terrifying new threat with them. And leading the fight for survival is Phoebe Dynevor, a face many viewers instantly recognize from her breakout role in the lavish period drama Bridgerton.

But this time around, there are no elegant ballrooms, whispered scandals, or sweeping romances. Instead, the actress is trading high society for sheer survival as the newly released Thrash trailer teases a shark-infested nightmare filled with rising water, relentless danger, and terror lurking just below the surface. You can check out the thrilling official trailer right below!

Just looking at the trailer, it’s clear that Thrash is going all-in on tension and spectacle. The footage wastes no time throwing viewers into the middle of a catastrophic hurricane as floodwaters surge through a coastal town, trapping residents in submerged streets and collapsing buildings.

But the storm itself is only the beginning of the nightmare. As the waters continue to rise, sharks begin prowling through the murky floodwaters. The flooded town is then transformed into a deadly hunting ground.

Tommy Wirkola wrote and directed the shark thriller flick. Dynevor takes on the role of Lisa Fields. Joining her in the cast are other amazingly talented actors such as Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One, Rebel Moon movies). They portray the roles of Dakota and Dale Edwards, two other characters who find themselves trapped in the middle of the hurricane as floodwaters quickly swallow their town.
