Cheers to a new week, and our last full week before the official start of the holiday season! While many of us have already started preparations for all of the holidays soon to come, and even started decorating and getting into the spirit, we still have lots of binge-watching to do on Netflix before we can really kick up our feet with some pie and relax for the rest of the year.
The past month has brought some great new Netflix shows and movies in the lead-up to the highly anticipated release of Stranger Things season 5. We have had some great releases like Death by Lightning, Frankenstein, A Merry Little Ex-Mas, The Beast in Me, and more. But there are even more where these came from, and they might be some of the most exciting of the month so far.
Wondering what new Netflix shows and movies should be on your watch list this week? There's a new Christmas romantic comedy, the return of a fan-favorite comedy series, a music special, and a thrilling new drama movie. Let's take a look at each of the Netflix new releases!

Champagne Problems
- Release Date: November 19
Fresh off the premiere of the first Netflix Christmas movie of the year, the streamer keeps the good times rolling with the next new movie. A Merry Little Ex-Mas set the tone for a holiday season full of romance and laughs from Netflix, and that's exactly what we're going to get from Champagne Problems.
If you loved Ransom Canyon earlier this year, then you're going to want to catch Minka Kelly in this movie. Kelly stars as an executive named Sydney who travels to France during the holidays to secure a hot champagne company as a client. Tom Wozniczka plays Henri, the man who just might steal Sydney's heart. Raise a glass to your next favorite Netflix movie!

A Man on the Inside season 2
- Release Date: November 20
Ted Danson is back as Charles Nieuwendyk in A Man on the Inside season 2, and we couldn't be more excited to dive into a new season! The comedy series from creator Mike Schur follows up a blockbuster first season with a brand-new case and lots of new cast members. This season, Charles trades in the retirement home for a liberal arts college!
Back in his familiar old stomping grounds as a retired college professor, Charles goes undercover when the provost of Wheeler College calls on Julie to find out who stole his laptop and has been blackmailing him. In addition to our favorite cast members returning, the new season also welcomes Mary Steenburgen, Max Greenfield, Gary Cole, and many more familiar faces. Add some mystery to your week with the hilarious new season of A Man on the Inside.
One Shot with Ed Sheeran: A Music Experience
- Release Date: November 21
There's no musician that the world loves as much as Ed Sheeran, which is apparent from his long list of hit songs. As if his world tours, platinum albums, and various award wins aren't already impressive, Sheeran's about to prove just how much everyone loves him as Netflix releases the new music experience titled One Shot with Ed Sheeran.
The music special comes from Philip Barantini, the Emmy Award-winning director of Netflix's wildly popular limited series Adolescence, but don't expect it to be quite that dark. In the special, which was filmed in one continuous shot, Sheeran journeys through New York City for impromptu performances that are up close and personal with his fans. We haven't seen something quite like this, which means you simply cannot skip it this wek!
Train Dreams
- Release Date: November 21
Last but not least, Netflix debuts yet another original film that's hoping to land some award nominations later this year. After making its limited theatrical release earlier this month, Train Dreams premieres globally on Netflix on Nov. 21. The film's based on the novella of the same name written by Denis Johnson and comes from director Clint Bentley, who co-wrote the script with Greg Kwedar.
Train Dreams takes place in the early 20th century and focuses on the life of logger and railroad worker Robert Grainier who builds a life and family but finds himself pulled away from his loved ones. It's a somber movie that will hit you right in the emotions! Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, Clifton Collins Jr., Kerry Condon, and William H. Macy star in the critically acclaimed film that's sure to be one of the biggest new releases of the week.
