47. The Interview

Release Year: 2014

Director: Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen

Starring: Seth Rogen, James Franco, Lizzy Caplan

At this point, I’ll watch anything with Seth Rogen and James Franco in it and anything Evan Goldberg is attached to is going to get my money in the theater or my attention on Netflix or otherwise.

I wouldn’t say The Interview is as funny as Pineapple Express, but then again, it’s one of the sillier comedies in the 21st century. However, The Interview is pretty outrageous in its own right with some nice cameos, including from Eminem in the opening minutes that will literally have you reaching for your side because you’re laughing so hard.

Rogen and Franco’s characters are tired of not being taken seriously as celebrity tabloid journalists so when they find out they’ll be interviewing Kim Jong-un who is a fan of their show, the CIA hires them to take out the North Korean dictator.
