The film that put M. Night Shyamalan on the map. Starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment, The Sixth Sense is about a boy (Osment) who can see and speak to the dead. The memorable tagline of the movie was “I see dead people.” Dr. Crowe (Willis) is the child psychologist in charge of helping the boy. After originally dismissing the boy’s claims, Crowe discovers the boy is telling the horrifying truth.

The intense and continuous run-ins with the dead make you quickly forget this is actually a PG-13 movie that was box office hit as a cross of thriller-horror genres. The Sixth Sense mix of startling moments, intricate plot, and great acting lead up to a devastating climactic plot twist now famous in Shyamalan movies.

The movie rights were originally bought by Disney but later sold to Spyglass. That appears to have been a great move, for the supernatural classic is very far from Disney material.
