Corpse Bride

Release Year: 2005

Directed by Tim Burton and Mike Johnson

Starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Emily Watson, Christopher Lee, Tracy Ullman, Paul Whitehouse, Joanna Lumley

Corpse Bride is as stop-motion animated film set in the Victorian Era. In the film, Victor (Johnny Depp), a groom-to-be, is practicing his wedding vows in the woods when he accidentally disturbs Emily, a young woman who also happens to be dead. Emily, then, believes she and Victor are married, which causes a whole bunch of problems!

Tonally, thematically, and visually, Corpse Bride is a lot like Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, which you just saw in this list of great Halloween movies to watch on Netflix. If you like Tim Burton or The Nightmare Before Christmas or both, you definitely have to watch Corpse Bride.

Corpse Bride was nominated for an Oscar at the 2006 Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature Film. Yeah, it’s THAT good! Check it out!
