18. Noel

Release Year: 2004

Written by David Hubbard

Directed by Chazz Palminteri

Starring Susan Sarandon, Paul Walker, Penélope Cruz, Alan Arkin, Marcus Thomas and Robin Williams

Noel tells the story of five people who are down on their luck find each other and seek to improve their lives on Christmas Eve in New York City. And, that’s all we can see without giving away too much about the story.

Each character has their own problems to solve, and they need each other to help them see the way. The film reminds me of a less funny and enjoyable Love Actually. It has a similar vibe to it, without the good parts of Love Actually.

Despite the solid cast, Noel never really lived up to the hype. It’s still a decent movie to watch on Netflix this holiday season if you like romantic dramas. If not, you might want to skip out on Noel!
