23. Holiday Engagement

Release Year: 2011

Written by Jim Fall and Barbara Kymlicka

Directed by Jim Fall

Starring Bonnie Somerville, Shelley Long, Jordan Bridges, and Haylie Duff

After her fiance breaks off their engagement just before Christmas, Hillary Burns (Bonnie Somerville) hires a man to pretend to be her fiance over the holiday season to impress her family and disapproving mother.

Holiday Engagement is a Hallmark movie, which is basically its own genre of Christmas movie at this point. If you don’t like those kinds of movies, you might want to skip the movie. However, it is one of the better movies its genre on Netflix, so make sure to give it a watch if you like those movies.

You’ll find a lot of movies on Netflix like this one. I don’t necessarily understand it, but people love these feel-good movies around Christmas time.
