‘Avicii: I’m Tim’ gets its release date on Netflix (and it is very soon)

The documentary follows the life and times of Avicii and the ups and downs of his career.

Who was Avicii? Netflix will release the documentary on New Year's Eve that follows the late Swedish DJ and record producer. Throughout his time during the 2010s, Avicii, whose real name is Tim Berling, rose to prominence to prominence through his hit single “Levels” in 2011. 

Avicii: I’m Tim was written and directed by Henrik Burman. The documentary follows Avicii's rise and downfall including those who have worked with him. It also captures behind the scenes of Avicii, other than who fans knew as a public figure. 

The documentary features his music tour around the world where he was beloved by fans. Those who worked with him or knew him saw the different side of him that was his personal side of his character.

Avicii documentary gets its Netflix release date

Avicii was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and was survived by his mother, Anki Liden, and his father, Klas Bergling. He had two brothers and one sister, also including Anton Korberg, who is an actor.

As Avicii’s song “Levels” became popular around the world, his first album, True (2013), was one of the top hits in international chars including in more than 15 countries. He was nominated for a Grammy award for his song “Sunshine” featuring David Guetta.

The song “Wake Me Up," featuring Aloe Blacc, was one of the songs in Europe and made it to number four in the United States. His last album, Tim (2019), was a posthumous release that included his single “SOS.” 

He had collaborated with other acts including Guetta, Blacc, Madonna, Cold Play, Wyclef Jean, Zac Brown, and many others. The Swedish artist died on April 20, 2018, in Muscat, Oman.
