If you missed the first season of Netflix's FUBAR, here is what you need to know. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Luke Brunner, a CIA operative with a not-great relationship with his daughter, Emma (Monica Barbaro of A Complete Unknown fame). The issue is that they have constantly lied to one another.
Both are CIA operatives as it turns out, though neither knows that about the other until they have to team up. Luke becomes the father he doesn't need to be, as he is overprotective of his daughter, and that causes problems with them doing their jobs.
The series's first season was released in May 2023, but by June, Netflix subscribers knew a second season would be arriving soon. We know now that the second season will be released on June 12. We also know a bit more about the cast and what to expect.
Netflix drops new trailer for FUBAR Season 2
Netflix released a new trailer for FUBAR this week, and it looks like what you would expect. Things blow up, there are fisticuffs, there appears to be a lot of dancing, and quite a bit of humor. Is it mindless fun? Probably, but fun is the key word.
Plus, Arnold will be joined by Carrie-Anne Moss. Of course, you know her from many things, but probably most from the Matrix films. She knows action while also being a darned good actress. Moss appears to play a character named Greta Nelso, who is a former East German spy who "disappeared" in 1989.
She is very much alive, though, and viewers will be forced to believe in a sexually charged relationship between Arnold and Moss's characters. They are supposed to be exes, after all. Does the trailer sell us on that? Meh. Not really, but again, it's supposed to be fun.
The series was created by Nick Santora, who also acts as an executive producer and showrunner. Schwarzenegger is also an executive producer. Skydance Television is also involved, so one might wonder if their potential partnership with CBS will affect future FUBAR seasons being made and shown on Netflix.
The returning players from Season 1 are as follows:
- Travis Van Winkle as Aldon
- Fortune Feimster as Roo
- Milan Carter as Barry
- Scott Thompson as Dr. Pfeffer
- Fabiana Udenio as Tally
- Andy Buckley as Donnie
- Jay Baruchel as Carter
