You know what to expect in February, don't you? It is Valentine's Day month, so we should expect a bunch of sappy, happy, and ludicrous films to be available for streaming. Some might even be worth watching.
Still, love stories are not all we will get in month two. Netflix has made sure of that. And yes, one of the films below is a film about romance. Whether you should see it or not, we have an idea.
The other films on what to see in February are not about love at all. Not directly anyway. So, if you want to watch movies about people falling in love, you can find those on your favorite streaming service. You just might not find them here.
Movies to stream (and one to skip) on Netflix in February 2025
Kinda Pregnant (February 5)
Watch! Netflix fans had to wait about a year for this Amy Schumer-led film about a lady who pretends to get pregnant (fake baby bump and all) because she is jealous of her friend's real pregnancy. That sounds like an extremely simple plot that could be hard to flesh out and form into a 90-minute comedy. But wait! This is an Adam Sandler production.
That means there should be lots of silliness, but also lots of laughs with a bit of heart. As long as Schumer isn't completely over the top, the film should be funny and easy to watch. Plus, the cast consists of Schumer, Will Forte, Jillian Bell, Damon Wayans, Jr. and others. Sounds like it will be a winner. (The trailer is age-restricted, but you can watch it here.)
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (February 11)
Watch! Sorry to disappoint maybe, but this film does not star Henry Cavill. This should be a fantastic bit of anime. The plot has the Witcher, Geralt, hired to look into some seaside attacks and potential conflict between humans and sea people. This isn't the first Witcher anime, either. 2021's The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf was quite good.
Anime might not be everybody's cup of tea, but since a lot of people already know the gist behind the Witcher, the movie should be worth a viewing or five. If nothing else, it's a different take on Geralt.
La Dolce Villa (February 13)
Skip! The plot sounds a bit ridiculous. A businessman travels to Italy to stop his daughter from making a huge financial commitment after she buys a broken-down villa for one Euro. But then, we assume, the businessman finds love and beauty while in Italy because that is what Italy does (one can also assume).
The movie stars the reliable Scott Foley, as well as Maia Reficco, Violante Placido, and Giuseppe Futia. We simply have too many Valentine's Day films already without adding another Hallmark-caliber one to the mix.
Demon City (February 27)
Watch! This one probably will not be for the faint of heart and will feature a lot of violence. Still, the plot, based on a comic that ran for several years recently, sounds like something akin to the John Wick movies, and that has to be a good thing. The storyline revolves around a hitman who is seeking revenge after his wife and daughter have died. He was accused of the killings, but he was framed.
Toma Ikuta stars as Shuhei Sakata, and he has the ability to create a real human connection where they might not otherwise be. He was excellent in the Netflix series Beyond Goodbye, for instance. The cast also includes Matsuya Onoe, Masahiro Higashide, Masanobu Takashima, and Mio Tanaka.
