Best: Leo

Who would have thought one of the best Netflix movies of the year would be an animated movie about a 74-year-old lizard named Leo and voiced by Adam Sandler? Not me! After reading about the movie, I had Leo penciled in as one of the worst movies of the year from Netflix. I’m sorry for not believing in, again, the animated movie about a lizard played by Adam Sandler. I’m not the biggest fan of Sandler’s Netflix movies, although they have improved in recent years.

In the movie, Leo, the class lizard in the fifth grade class at Fort Myers Elementary, realizes his time might be coming and he hasn’t even seen the world. Leo wants to set out on an adventure, but he’s pulled back into the world of education when he’s taken home by several students and. gives them life advice. When Leo eventually goes missing, the class comes together to try to find him.

Leo has more heart than most Netflix movies. As a Netflix original, it’s a nearly perfect movie. It also features a great voice cast with Sandler, Bill Burr, Cecily Strong, Jason Alexander, Rob Schneider, Allison Strong, Jo Koy, and more. Leo is easily one of the best Netflix movies of the year. If you and your family haven’t given Leo a chance this year, I highly recommend it before the year ends.
