Best: Extraction 2

Extraction 2 premiered on Netflix on June 16, more than three years after the first Extraction movie introduced the world to Chris Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake. In Extraction 2, Tyler and his team are back for another — you guessed it! — extraction. This time, Tyler is recovering and enjoying retirement in a remote Austrian town. He’s approached by a mysterious man, played by Idris Elba, who reveals that he’s been asked to extract his ex-wife’s sister and her family from a Georgian prison where they’re being held captive by the leader of the Georgian criminal group, known as the Nagazi.

If you’re a fan of action movies, Extraction 2 is basically as good as it gets for Netflix. While the story as a bit thin at times, Extraction 2 features incredible action sequences, some of the best of all-time, including a 21-minute one-shot featuring a prison riot, cars, motorcycles, weapon, a helicopter, fire, and more. It’s truly incredible filmmaking and direction to pull it off.

Extraction 2 is the tenth most popular Netflix movie of all time behind the original Extraction, which sits at No. 9 on the list. And, even better news, Extraction 3 is already in the works! When it’s all said and done, Tyler Rake will be in the conversation with John Wick, Jason Bourne, Ethan Hunt, and the other great action characters of this generation.
