Worst: Heart of Stone

Heart of Stone is a spy thriller released earlier this year from director Tom Harper and writers Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder. Gal Gadot plays an international spy tasked with hunting down a super powerful artificial intelligence system known as The Heart.

Gadot isn’t exactly renowned for her acting skill and that’s part of why this movie doesn’t work, but while Heart of Stone isn’t the worst action movie Netflix has produced, it’s too cliché and predictable to be of much interest to most. Apart from Gadot, the movie also stars Jamie Dornan, Alia Bhatt, Sophie Okonedo, and Matthias Schweighöfer.

And to be fair to Gadot she’s fine as an action star in that she doesn’t necessarily need to be a brilliant actress to pull off a role like this one and she is perfectly adept at executing the stunts and fight choreography, but beyond that Heart of Stone just doesn’t bring anything new to the genre and is a pretty forgettable movie after all.

Not the worst thing to watch on a weekend night if you’ve got nothing else on, but not memorable either. Even the production design and set pieces fail to bring anything exciting to Heart of Stone.
