FUBAR

Arnold Schwarzenegger starring in a new Netflix action-comedy series seems like a good idea. On paper, FUBAR has all the makings of a popular Netflix show, and in many ways, the show succeeded. Netflix subscribers love an action-comedy or thriller series, and FUBAR checks that box for those fans. After its premiere on May 25, it was quickly renewed for season 2 at TUDUM 2023 in Brazil. Just because a show is popular, it doesn’t mean that the show is good. And, that’s exactly what’s going on with FUBAR.

FUBAR is on Netflix Life’s list of the worst Netflix shows of the year. The series tells the story of Luke Brunner (Schwarzenegger) and his daughter, Emma (Monica Barbaro). Luke and Emma both work as agents of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), but they never reveal their involvement with each other. When they are forced to work together, Luke and Emma try to come together.

FUBAR has its moments. Some of the story elements work, but it’s clear that this show is for a very specific audience. It’s not nearly as funny as it tries to be. It feels so forced when it doesn’t need to be.

As mentioned, FUBAR gets another chance to fix its flaws and change the things that didn’t work in season 2.
