Get to know the cast of Netflix’s Norwegian rom-com Christmas as Usual

This year, Netflix has been slacking on its Christmas content. However, there’s one new Christmas movie on the streaming platform worth checking out, and it’s Christmas as Usual.

Christmas as Usual is a Norwegian romantic comedy film that was written and directed by Petter Holmsen. Some of Holmsen’s previous work includes directing episodes of TV shows like Oljefondet, Aldri voksen, Post Mortem: No One Dies in Skarnes and Neste sommer. He also directed three episodes in the upcoming second season of Krypto Kings.

The rom-com is based on a true story and follows Thea and Jashan, a recently engaged couple who decide to visit family for the Christmas holiday. This will be Thea’s first time introducing her new boyfriend and now-fiancé to her Norwegian family, and meeting family for the first time isn’t always an easy thing to do, especially if there are cultural differences.

Thea and Jashan quickly realize this when they arrive at the doorstep of Thea’s family’s home in Norway. As the Christmas holiday goes on, Thea tries her best to make her Indian fiancé fit in with her family. But with her family’s Norwegian life-long traditions and Jashan’s own cultural traditions clashing, it makes for a chaotic Christmas.

Who plays who in Christmas as Usual on Netflix?

Ida Ursin-Holm stars in one of the leading roles as Thea Evjen. She’s pictured above to the left. She’s a Norwegian actress who was born on Jan. 5, 1991, making her 32 years old as of December 2023. Additionally, her zodiac sign is Capricorn, she’s about 5 feet 10 inches and a half tall, and she has short blonde hair and blue eyes.

You might’ve watched her in the drama film Løvekvinnen. She played the role of Eva. She also portrayed the role of Kiss Bennett in the adventure film Amundsen. Pictured above to the right is Kanan Gill. He plays the other leading role of Jashan Joshi. He’s an Indian comedian and actor who was born on Dec. 24, 1989, making him 33 years old and a Capricorn. He’s also believed to be about 5 feet 10 inches tall.

Some of his previous acting work includes playing the role of Saad in the comedy film Noor and Armaan in the comedy web series Better Life Foundation. He was also a mentor and judge on the Indian stand-up comedy competition series Comicstaan.
