Unfortunately, Netflix’s limited series Florida Man had the daunting task of premiering between The Night Agent and The Diplomat. Anything released on the streamer in the shadow of The Night Agent didn’t quite have a chance to have its moment, and The Diplomat arrived the week after Florida Man, again overshadowing the limited series.

All three of these shows are very different, so it isn’t completely fair to compare them to each other. But Florida Man definitely underperformed when compared to other Netflix limited series. The cast and premise were both pluses that made the series worth watching, but the timing couldn’t have been worse. The series landed with a fizzle rather than a bang.

Since the series didn’t make any waves bigger than those you might find at Florida’s beaches, it’s probably best not to rush this one onto your watch list. There are plenty of other Netflix limited series worth dipping into at any time, like Echoes, From Scratch, Midnight Mass, and so many others. If you’re a fan of the cast, check it out. Otherwise, you’re not missing much.
