Society of the Snow is easily one of the best movies to have been released in 2023 and by far one of Netflix's best overall. The survival drama is based on the book by Pablo Vierci that details the horrifying true story of the Uruguayan rugby team who found themselves stranded in the Andes mountains after their plane crashed in 1972.

Nominated for multiple Academy Awards, Society of the Snow is one of the tensest survival movies I've ever seen. The plane crash scene alone is one of the most thrilling and realistic I've seen depicted on camera. Whether you're familiar with the true story or not, it cannot be understated how excellent this film is and how great of a job it does at depicting the harsh realities faced by these young men during a nightmare situation.

Not only that, but the cast deliver heartbreaking performances, anchored with a particularly fantastic turn from Enzo Vogrincic.

Verdict: WATCH
