There’s truly no doubt that Do Revenge will go down as one of the best Netflix movies of 2022 — if not the best. The dark teen comedy managed to pull off an incredible balance between camp and nostalgia that doesn’t feel cheap or dated (the pitfalls many movies get trapped in). Instead, we’re left with what could become a modern teen classic with undeniable rewatch value.

Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke, two actors who are not teenagers, play Drea and Eleanor, a mismatched pair of high school seniors and kindred spirits who find commonality in getting revenge on their enemies. Drea and Eleanor team up to do each other’s revenge, but that’s much easier said than done. And you’ll never see the big twist coming.

Even though Do Revenge takes place in high school but none of the teens are played by actual teenagers, it works and adds to the overall camp of the film. Likewise, it’s just another nod to the many classic teen movies it references so well. Mendes and Hawke are the perfect duo, and the surprise supporting role from Sarah Michelle Gellar is just icing on the cake.

If you have been putting off watching Do Revenge, this is your sign to finally add it to your watch list. And if you have been waiting to rewatch the movie, don’t wait another second. Do Revenge is hands-down a must-watch Netflix movie that will stand the test of time.
