Prisoners

Release Year: 2013

Directed by Denis Villeneuve

Cast: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano

If you’re in the mood for an older movie (I can’t believe it’s a decade old now!) to watch on Netflix tonight, Prisoners is the movie for you. If you haven’t seen the movie, of course! It was the top movie on Netflix after it was added to the streaming service.

After two young girls are kidnapped and police arrest and clear the main suspect, the father of one of the girls takes matters into his own hands. The film follows the twists and turns of the investigation as Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhall) tries to get to the bottom of the mystery and find the girls.

Prisoners was nominated for the Oscar for Best Cinematography in 2014. It’s definitely one of the most underrated movies from the 2010s, so if you need something to watch, we highly recommend this movie.

Verdict: WATCH
