Where the Crawdads Sing is based on the best-selling book of the same name by Delia Owens. The book was released in 2018 and was a huge hit. The movie was released a few years later in 2022, and it was added to Netflix in 2022 thanks to Netflix’s deal with Sony.

Where the Crawdads Sing was a big hit when it was added to Netflix. It was on the Netflix Top 10 movies list for a long time. The film is set in North Carolina and tells the story of Kya (Daisy Edgar-Jones) who is accused of the murder of a popular man in town, Chase Andrews (Harris Dickinson). The film follows the trial and also flashes back to moments throughout Kya’s life.

The movie has been criticized for its portrayal of Black characters. It’s also just not that good of a movie, so unless you’re a superfan of the book, you can probably skip Where the Crawdads Sing on Netflix.
