Bird Box Barcelona is a new Netflix original Spanish thriller. It premiered on Netflix on Friday, July 14, 2023, and it’s easily one of the most popular non-English language movies of the year.

The film is a spinoff of Netflix’s Bird Box, which is one of the most popular Netflix movies of all time. It is based on the book of the same name by Josh Malerman. Bird Box starred Sandra Bullock, and it was a huge hit. Unfortunately, Bullock is not in Bird Box Barcelona. 

The blindfolds are back, and it’s set in Barcelona! The story follows a young father, Sebastion, played by Mario Casas, and his daughter, Anna, Alejandro Howard, as they try to avoid the beings that arrived on Earth and use human sight against them.

Unless you really, really, really like the first Bird Box movie, you’re just a big fan of Spanish movies, or you love the cast, you can skip Bird Box Barcelona and not feel too bad about it.
