Amy Schumer teaming up with Adam Sandler for Kinda Pregnant: Everything we know
Emmy winner Amy Schumer is set to make her return to Netflix, but instead of coming back with a new comedy special, she’ll be back with a new movie titled Kinda Pregnant. Below, we go in-depth about all you need to know about the upcoming comedy flick.
Amy Schumer will be making her Netflix film debut with this new movie. As of December 2023, she has one licensed film on Netflix titled Thank You for Your Service. She also has four Netflix comedy specials: Amy Schumer: The Leather Special, Amy Schumer: Growing, Amy Schumer: Emergency Contact and Amy Schumer’s Parental Advisory.
Kinda Pregnant cast and crew
Coming from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison production company and Netflix, Kinda Pregnant will be directed by Tyler Spindel, who is known for previously directing the movies Father of the Year, The Wrong Missy and The Out-Laws. In addition, Julie Paiva has penned the script.
Amy Schumer stars in the film as the main character (Lainy) and is signed on as a producer as well. Other producers on the film include Sandler, Tim Herlihy, Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, Eli Thomas, and Molly Sims. Additionally, the list of executive producers includes Barry Bernardi, Michael D Robins, and Kevin Kane.
Schumer is the only actor who has been announced to be in the cast so far. I’m sure we’ll learn of more cast additions once the movie moves further into the filmmaking process.
What is the comedy film about?
The upcoming Netflix movie follows a woman named Lainy who, after finding out that her best friend is pregnant, decides to start wearing a fake baby bump because she’s jealous of her pregnancy. But then in a chance encounter, she meets the man of her dreams.
Honestly, the movie’s plot is a little bit confusing. I’m sure that as more plot details come out, we’ll have a better idea of what the film is about. Once the official synopsis is released, we’ll share it right away.
Although the film has been announced by Netflix, no information has been revealed yet about production starting. Our guess is that the cameras will start rolling sometime early next year (2024). There’s also a possibility that filming could start by the end of 2023, but we’re probably looking more at a 2024 start date. We’ll make sure to share everything revealed about the production schedule once we find out more information.
