A Nearly Normal Family soundtrack: All the songs in the Scandinavian drama
By Mads Lennon
One thing viewers can generally anticipate from Netflix series is some decent music, whether that be a great musical score or catchy songs that are bound to find their way onto your music playlists. That’s no different for the latest Scandinavian series, A Nearly Normal Family, based on the book by Swedish author M.T. Edvardsson.
Even though its a Swedish show, it features a lot of music that Americans are likely to recognize with songs from artists like Santigold, Agnes Obel, and The Teddybears. The majority of songs used in the show have English lyrics.
A Nearly Normal Family follows a teenage girl named Stella Sandell who is accused of murdering a man much older than her. Beyond following Stella, the series also focuses on how her parents, Ulrika and Adam, are dealing with their daughter being accused of such a serious crime and the lengths they will go to prove her innocence. But is she innocence? Or is she hiding a dark secret?
Of course, the show also features a beautiful score in addition to its songs. A Nearly Normal Family boasts a score composed by Uno Helmersson, an award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist who has worked on shows like The Bridge and has more than 70 different projects under his belt.
