Want to give someone the gift of television this year? Maybe you have a friend that has been dying to watch Stranger Things or Wednesday, but just hasn’t gotten around to doing it or doesn’t have the extra funds to pay for a subscription right now. Well, a Netflix gift card might be the perfect gift this holiday season!

Sadly, Netflix doesn’t usually offer many Black Friday deals or discounts, but you can buy gift cards for your friends and loved ones year-round.

The best way to get started is to go to the official Netflix gift card website here. There, you’ll find out all of your options when it comes to purchasing a Netflix gift card. If you want, you can even put a specific amount of money on a card and set it aside to pay for your personal Netflix subscription throughout the year, or gift a membership to someone else.

Once you purchase the Netflix gift card, it works like cash and will be applied to your monthly subscription. You (or your recipient) will receive a notice when the funds get low so you don’t have to stress about that.

If you’re someone who received a gift card for Christmas, you’ll need to go to the redemption site here to redeem it.

To buy the cards, you can go online to Amazon, Best Buy, Target, or Walmart. If you’re shopping in person, then Walmart, Kroger, and Target sell Netflix gift cards and you can buy them like you would any other gift card.

Add someone to your Netflix account

If you don’t want to get a gift card, but still want to do something nice for someone living nearby, you can also pay an additional $7.99 per month to add an extra member to your Netflix account. So, if your kid is at college or you have friends nearby, they can get added to your account with their own personal profile.

The introduction of this feature came along with Netflix’s crackdown on password-sharing. Unfortunately, it’s now not really feasible to share passwords with people outside of your household, so this is a way to do it for a little extra per month.
