Netflix is adding 14 new movies and shows this week (Nov. 19, 2023)

It’s Thanksgiving week, but just because it’s a holiday doesn’t mean Netflix isn’t adding new movies and shows to their lineup. The new additions include a new reality show, a new animated movie, and a new limited thriller series.

First up this week is Squid Game: The Challenge. Based on the wildly popular series, the new reality show starts airing weekly episodes on Wednesday, Nov.. 22, 2023.

It all starts with 456 real players entering the competition to try to win $4.56 million. They will have to compete in challenges inspired by the original series, determine their strategies, form alliances, and figure out how they can survive until the end.

This week also brings the animated movie Leo! It comes to Netflix on Tuesday, Nov. 21. The movie features the voices of Adam Sandler, Bill Burr, Sadie Sandler, Jackie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Stephanie Hsu, and Cecily Strong. It follows a lizard who experiences the last year of elementary school as the class pet. During this period, he and his turtle friend escape the terrarium they’ve been living in for 74 years and go on an adventure.

You can also check out A Nearly Normal Family this week. The Swedish limited series hits Netflix on Friday, Nov. 24. A perfectly normal family may be anything but when they are completely destroyed by a shocking murder. One of them is arrested for murder and the family has to wonder if they really know each other at all.
