The first season’s premiere is the best episode of the show because it’s the introduction to the series. We meet the Bridgerton family, the Duke of Hastings, and every other colorful character in the show for the first time. We also learn of gossip columnist Lady Whistledown. It’s when Daphne and Simon first meet, and boy is there tension. While Daphne wants to find a suitable husband, Simon wants nothing more than to be left alone and away from all the eligible women hounding him. So, what better thing to do than to team up?

Daphne and Simon pretend to court so that Daphne can be the most desirable woman and attract worthy suitors while Simon can be left alone. But what they don’t know is that eventually romantic feelings will develop, and what was supposed to be an elaborate plan turns into something very real. It’s the beginning of Daphne and Simon’s beautiful love story.
