All 16 episodes of Bridgerton ranked from worst to best
7. Season 1, Episode 3
Titled “Art of the Swoon,” the third episode shows Daphne and Simon getting along well and enjoying their arrangement, but they soon find themselves having a hard time seeing each other as just friends and partners. However, Daphne does not let this distract her from finding a worthy suitor. This episode also includes another steamy moment between the two when Simon explains to Daphne how she can pleasure herself. Later in the episode, Daphne attempts to do so while thinking of Simon.
But everything comes crashing down when Simon breaks off their arrangement. This scene was hard to watch because you can tell from the look in Simon’s eyes that he had developed feelings for Daphne but didn’t want to lead her on any longer. To see Simon storm into his estate demanding his staff to set up arrangements for him to leave London was also hard to watch because it showed how affected he was by his decision to end things with Daphne.
With Simon no longer in the picture, Daphne decides to return Prince Friedrich’s attention. As they dance at the ball, Simon stares in jealousy. He’s unable to watch them together, so she decides to leave early.
What I enjoyed most about this episode was the scenes showing Simon and Daphne bonding and flirting. It’s blatantly obvious that something more than friendship is brewing between them, but both are too stubborn to make it known.
6. Season 1, Episode 4
I probably should’ve ranked this one higher because it’s the episode when Daphne and Simon have their first kiss. Although Daphne did have chemistry with Prince Friedrich, I couldn’t wait for her to end things with him. Don’t get me wrong. Prince Friedrich was a sweet guy, but he did not compare to Simon.
As Prince Friedrich is about to propose, Daphne runs off and Simon pursues her. Daphne stops in the garden, and Simon grabs her arm and pulls her in for a passionate kiss. Anthony catches them kissing and challenges Simon to a duel. But the duel doesn’t get to happen because Daphne shows up in time to stop it. The episode ends with Daphne agreeing to marry Simon even though he tells her that he’s unable to have kids. The story really started picking up in this episode.
