9. Season 2, Episode 7

Scandalous rumors are swirling around in the ton about the failed wedding of Lord Anthony Bridgerton and Miss Edwina Sharma, so both families attempt to do damage control. They decide to put together a ball. Meanwhile, Anthony and Kate can’t stop thinking about their first kiss.

Eloise is cornered by the Queen and is accused of being Lady Whistledown. Queen Charlotte gives her an ultimatum: join forces or be her enemy. Penelope gives Eloise advice and tells her not to meet up with Theo because it’ll make her look suspicious, but Eloise decides to meet up with him anyway. Their meet-up doesn’t go well, and they decide to go their separate ways.

No one shows up at the ball because of Lady Whistledown’s latest issue revealing a scandal involving Eloise and Theo. Later, Kate and Anthony sleep together for the first time, but Kate is gone by the next morning. The episode ends on a shocking cliffhanger when Kate is thrown off her horse.

8. Season 1, Episode 5

After they have their first kiss in the garden in the fourth episode of the season, Daphne and Simon decide to wed because someone saw them when they were kissing. If the ton were to hear of this, Daphne’s reputation would be tarnished. They try to get a license to marry as quickly as possible, but Queen Charlotte initially refuses to do so since Daphne rejected her nephew.

While pleading with the Queen to let them marry, Simon confesses his love for Daphne in a beautiful speech. The Queen is moved by his confession, and Daphne and Simon get married soon after. Meanwhile, Marina gets Colin to propose to her. That way, her child has a father and she’ll be with someone who is kind.

Later, Daphne and Simon go on their honeymoon where they both make their feelings clear to each other before sleeping together for the first time. This is the episode of the iconic line “I burn for you.” I don’t really have anything negative to say about this episode. It was enjoyable overall.
