Selling Sunset season 8 officially happening at Netflix: Here’s everything to know so far
After an explosive seventh season, fans couldn’t wait to see what the Selling Sunset season 7 reunion would look like. Well, the reunion special dropped on Netflix on Nov. 15, and the cast had A LOT to hash out and discuss.
One of the topics discussed during the reunion was a brand new season. We found out that there will be a Selling Sunset season 8. The good news was announced at the very end of the reunion. We had an inkling that the renewal would be announced then because it seemed like the perfect time to announce some good news. Honestly, think about it.
However, not much information is known about the upcoming eighth season just yet, but we decided to share everything we know about it so far to keep you up to date.
Spoilers from Selling Sunset season 7 ahead.
How does Selling Sunset season 7 end?
Here’s a rundown of what all happens at the end of the seventh season.
- The Oppenheim Group’s new office in Los Angeles is done being worked on.
- Chrishell reveals that she and G Flip got married. They took a trip to Vegas and were wed in a secret wedding ceremony. However, she also mentions that they aren’t legally married. She says, “There’s no importance in that because we know what it is to us.”
- In an emotional sit-down, Amanza and Chrishell work through their problems. They end their conversation back on good terms.
- Bre and new cast member, Cassandra Dawn, have an intense conversation that ends with Bre leaving the new office party, declaring that she’s done with the show and the Oppenheim Group.
Production on the eighth season will begin soon
During the season 7 reunion special, Chrishell announced that the cast and crew will begin filming Selling Sunset season 8 “very soon.” Sadly, a production start date wasn’t given, but it looks like production could get started any day now. As of Nov. 16, none of the cast members have revealed that production has commenced yet, so our guess is that it hasn’t. We’ll let you know when the cameras start rolling as soon as we find out.
What could Selling Sunset season 8 be about?
Well, we first need to find out if Bre Tiesi is still working at the Oppenheim Group. Unfortunately, this juicy information was not revealed during the season 7 reunion, so it’ll probably be addressed in the eighth season. During the reunion, Bre told host Tan France that she’s “undecided” on the matter of whether she’ll be returning to the O Group.
Also, what about Chrishell and Nicole? Will they ever be friends again? They don’t talk for most of the seventh season, and Chrishell tells Nicole she “hates” her during the reunion. Could they ever rekindle their friendship or is it too late?
Then, there’s Mary and Romain. We found out in the seventh season that Mary had a miscarriage, and we got to see a little bit of them working through it. What’s next for Mary and Romain going forward?
And we can’t forget about newest cast member, Cassandra. Could we possibly see her join the Oppenheim Group? If so, it’ll definitely shake up some things in the office. In season 7, Cassandra and Chelsea hit it off fast, but it was revealed during the reunion that Cassandra pretty much ghosted Chelsea after the new Oppenheim Group office party. It looks like she would now have two enemies in the office if she was to join: Bre and Chelsea.
Also, Jason Oppenheim and Marie-Lou broke up in May 2023, but Jason revealed during the reunion that he was currently dating someone who lives in Canada. Could his new fling be introduced in the upcoming season? There’s so much that could happen in Selling Sunset season 8, and we can’t wait to see it.
Who could return in the new season?
Obviously, we would expect the majority of the season 7 cast to return in Selling Sunset season 8. This includes Brett and Jason Oppenheim, Chrishell Stause, Nicole Young, Mary Fitzgerald, Amanza Smith, Emma Hernan, and Chelsea Lazkani. As mentioned above, Bre’s future on the show and at the Oppenheim Group is up in the air. So it’s unclear if she’d return.
Heather Rae El Moussa only appeared in a few episodes in the seventh season, but we think she’d return as a main cast member for the eighth season. Since Jason and Marie-Lou broke up, Marie-Lou probably wouldn’t be back as a recurring cast member. However, Romain Bonnet works for the Oppenheim Group and is Mary’s husband, so he’ll probably return. Cassandra Dawn could also return depending on if she joins the Oppenheim Group.
The total episode count for season 8 isn’t known at the time, but our guess is that it’ll be around 8 to 11 episodes. It’ll probably be on the higher end of the range because season 7 had 11 episodes, not including the reunion. No worries. We’ll definitely make sure to let you know the total episode count once it’s revealed.
