Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is coming to Netflix on Halloween. Netflix finally announced the release date of one of the best and most popular movies of 2023.

Fans can tune in for the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on Oct. 31, 2023.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse release time on Netflix

We know there will be more than a few Spider-Man fans who are interested in staying up late to watch the movie as soon as it’s available on Netflix. Unfortunately, it’s going to be a real late night! Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on Netflix at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, which means you’re going to have to stay up super late to watch the movie as soon as it’s streaming.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has a two-hour, 16-minute runtime, which means you’ll be finishing up after 2 a.m. PT and 5 a.m. ET if you start watching as soon as it’s available. Like I said, that’s a late night.

Netflix almost always drops new movies and shows at 12:00 a.m. PT. That aligns with the time zone for Netflix’s Los Gatos headquarters in California. That differs from most other streaming services.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse brings back Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker from the first movie. In the movie, Miles teams up with Gwen on a mission across the multiverse to stop a new villain, the Spot (Jason Schwartzman). Along the way, Miles and Gwen meet a whole new group of Spideys known as the Spider Society.

Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Shea Whigham, Greta Lee, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali, and Oscar Isaac round out the rest of the cast in the movie, directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson. Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Dave Callaham wrote the screenplay for Across the Spider-Verse.

Where to watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

We know Netflix subscribers will be interested in the double feature of Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse.

Unfortunately, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is no longer available to stream on Netflix. After the film’s premiere in 2018, the movie was available to stream on Netflix from 2019 until the end of 2020. You can watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse on FX Now, but you’ll need a cable/satellite login. You can rent or buy the movie on Apple TV, YouTube TV, Google Play, Amazon Video, and more SVOD services.

And, even more unfortunate news, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the final movie of the trilogy, was supposed to be released in the spring of 2024 in theaters, but that’s not going to happen. It’s been pulled from Sony’s release schedule following the SAG-AFTRA strike. Prior to that, there were rumors and reports that production on the third movie was behind and would not be released in March 2024, even before the actors’ strike, according to an exclusive from ComicBook.com.

Depending on when it’s released, Beyond the Spider-Verse could be available to stream on Netflix after it’s released in theaters. It all depends on how long Netflix and Sony’s streaming deal lasts. We’ll find out soon, hopefully!

Across the Spider-Verse will be on the list of the best movies on Netflix when it arrives on Oct. 31! There are also five other Spider-Man movies on Netflix right now, including Sam Raimi’s original trilogy starring Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s two movies.
