Academy Award-winning actor Greg Kinnear has appeared in many roles in television and movies throughout the years. And now, there’s a new film to look forward to from the talent! And that’s Sight, which he stars alongside Terry Chen. Is the biographical drama streaming on Netflix?

The answer is, no. The movie Sight is not streaming on Netflix. The film was released exclusively in theaters Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. The production companies behind the project are Open River Entertainment and Reserve Entertainment, with Briarcliff Entertainment handling its distribution. So at this time, it’s difficult to say when and if the production will come to streaming.

Could it come to Netflix at some point? Potentially. That’s if the streaming service sees that it’s worth purchasing the movie‘s streaming distribution rights. Sight is based on the true story of Dr. Ming Wang and his autobiography, From Darkness to Sight. Coming to America as a “poor Chinese immigrant,” he was able to defy odds and become a “world-renowned eye surgeon,” per the synopsis. We get a look at his younger years in China as he faces “persecution and despair,” how he makes his way to Harvard and MIT through his own determination and the support of his family, and how helping a blind orphan leads him to facing his own “traumatic past” and working to overcome it.

The inspiring story stars Terry Chen as Dr. Ming Wang. In recent years, the actor has appeared as Xander Feng in House of Cards, Pryce Cheng in Jessica Jones, Owen in The Good Doctor, and Captain Kwong in The Last of Us. Kinnear takes on the role of his godfather, Misha Bartnovsky. The actor won Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars for his role as Simon Bishop in As Good as It Gets.
