8. The Week Of

  • Release Date: April 27, 2018
  • Director: Robert Smigel
  • Cast: Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rachel Dratch, Steve Buscemi, Vinny Beedle, Allison Strong, Roland Buck III, Chloe Himmelman, Katie Hartman, Jake Lippmann, Scott Cohen, Melanie Nicholls-King, Jorge Luna, Noah Robbins, Maury Ginsberg, Liz Larsen, Patricia Belcher, Teddy Coluca, Jim Barone, and more

The Week Of is the fourth of Adam Sandler’s Netflix movies. The Week Of is definitely better than The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over, but is it a good movie? Well, according to most ratings metrics, like Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic, and others, only about 3 out of 10 people who watched the movie liked it. Maybe that’s you, and maybe it’s not you. It definitely wasn’t me!

The Week Of follows two families, the Lustigs and the Cortices, as they come together to celebrate the wedding of Sarah Lustig (Allison Strong) and Tyler Cortice (Roland Buck III). During “the week of,” the father of the bride, Kenny (Adam Sandler), and the father of the groom, Kirby (Chris Rock), take center stage.

Again, The Week Of is probably one of the worst Sandler movies in a long time, but there’s a very clear arc to Sandler’s Netflix movies. The early movies are not very good, but the more recent releases are a lot more popular and much better movies.

Up next on the list is Sandler’s third movie of his Netflix deal, Sandy Wexler.
