9. The Do-Over

  • Release Date: May 27, 2016
  • Director: Steve Brill
  • Cast: Adam Sandler, David Spade, Paula Patton, Kathryn Hahn, and Luis Guzmán

The Do-Over was the second Adam Sandler Netflix movie. It was released only a few months after The Ridiculous 6. Unfortunately, it’s also the second-worst Adam Sandler Netflix movie, and it’s not particularly close. The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over are two of the worst Netflix original movies of all time. The Do-Over is marginally better than The Ridiculous 6, but it’s still a struggle, even for Sandler fans.

The Do-Over tells the story of two old friends who are unhappy middle-aged men, Charlie (Adam Sandler) and Max (David Spade). After reuniting and partying on a yacht, Max blows up the boat to fake their deaths. He has new lives set up for them, but everything goes wrong when the two identities they’ve stolen happen to have a history with criminals. Max and Charlie must fight to find a way out of this to clear their names and get their old identities back before it’s too late.

The good news is, although they aren’t great movies, the rest of the Adam Sandler Netflix movies get so much better after The Ridiculous 6 and The Do-Over.
