Netflix dropped Creature on Oct. 20, and most people have already watched the entire first season by now. Now they’re wondering if there will be more episodes coming in a Creature season 2 in the near future. No worries! We shared everything we know about a potential second installment below.
Creature is a new Turkish fantasy drama series streaming on Netflix. Taking place in Ottoman-era Istanbul, Creature follows a young medical student named Ziya who dreams of one day finding a cure for infectious diseases. He crosses paths with the reckless medical doctor, Ihsan, and they conduct a forbidden experiment that ultimately leads to devasting consequences.
Turkish actors Taner Ölmez and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil star in the leading roles of Ziya and Ihsan. The rest of the cast is made up of Engin Benli (Muzaffer), Şifanur Gül (Asiye), Bülent Şakrak (Ömer Kaptan), Sema Çeyrekbaşı (Hüsniye Nine), Devrim Yakut (Ofelya) and many others.
Could a Creature season 2 happen at Netflix?
I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there most likely won’t be a second season. The reason being that the fantasy drama is billed as a limited series. Limited series don’t typically receive additional installments. They’re meant to be one-and-done type of shows, meaning one season and that’s it.
However, we have seen some Netflix shows that were initially labeled as limited series be renewed for more seasons. Yes, we’re talking about Ryan Murphy’s Monster series and The Watcher. But this doesn’t happen often, and a show has to be very successful for Netflix to change its mind. This doesn’t look like this will be the case for Creature. However, if Netflix does decide to give the show another go, we’ll definitely make sure to let you know.
But for now, don’t expect there to be another season of the fantasy drama series. If you’re in need of something new to watch after watching Creature, we strongly recommend checking out Bodies on Netflix.
