Synopsis and first-look teaser
The Senna series offers a compelling journey through the life of Ayrton Senna, tracing his path from his early days in karting to his tragic end at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. It delves into both his personal life and professional challenges, shedding light on his remarkable career in a sport historically dominated by Europeans.
Here's the official series synopsis via Netflix:
"Over the course of six episodes, Senna will, for the first time, depict the journey of overcoming obstacles, ups and downs, joys, and sorrows of Ayrton, exploring his personality and personal relationships. The starting point will be the beginning of the three-time Formula 1 champion’s racing career when he moved to England to compete in Formula Ford, all the way to the tragic accident in Imola, Italy, during the San Marino Grand Prix."
According to Tudum, the biopic series will consist of six episodes.

In March 2023, Netflix announced that Gabriel Leone — recognized across Latin America for his roles in popular titles like Dom, Duetto, Dark Days, and Velho Chico, — will be stepping into the shoes of the Formula 1 legend, Ayrton Senna.

Netflix has yet to announce the official release date for the Ayrton Senna biopic series. However, in late September 2023, Elizabetta Zenatti, vice president of content at Netflix Brazil, confirmed that Senna is scheduled for release on Netflix in 2024. The streamer further elaborated in the release window in April 2024, confirming a release in late 2024.
